Pongal Preparation

Pongal has to be cooked in 2 brand new pots, one slightly smaller than the other.

​

The ratio of rice to be used is: Odd number of measures in one pot and Even number n the other pot.  For example, if you cook 4 tumblers in one pot, the other pot should be 5 tumblers; if you cook 2 cups in one pot, cook 3 cups in the second pot.! You get it?

The pongal cannot be shared with anyone other than Dhaayaadhis.! All other prasadams can be shared with everyone.

Offering Pongal to Amabal is optional. You can just perform Abhishekam and poojai without doing Pongal. Pongal has to be cooked only in the temple therefore, pack everything you need beforehand to make it easy for you!
